About our
Aswini Ayurvedic

Through one of the manager’s acquaintances, the request reached Shankaran Vaidyan, who was then practicing under Poomulli Mana in Palakkad — a renowned center for traditional Ayurvedic treatment. With permission from Poomulli Mana, Shankaran Vaidyan, along with his wife and brother, came to Pulpally in 1946. The Devaswom manager arranged the necessary facilities for him to begin his medical practice there. In the early days, the very house where Shankaran Vaidyan lived also functioned as the hospital.

At that time, there were no other hospitals in Pulpally. During the 1960s and 1970s, migration into Pulpally increased significantly, and as the population grew, medical camps and clinic extensions were established in other parts of the region. Later, two of Shankaran Vaidyan’s sons — Haridasan and Surendramohan (the present head of Aswini) — were sent to study Ayurveda at K.A. Samajam Ayurveda College, Shornur, in Palakkad.

After completing their studies, they returned to Pulpally and established a hospital offering inpatient Ayurvedic treatments.

Our journey

Aswini Ayurvedic Nursing Home started

In 2017, a parallel division of Aswini Ayurvedic Nursing Home was started adjacent to the pharmacy, and by 2020, the Bathery hospital operations were shifted and expanded to the Chethalayam facility.

At present, Aswini Ayurvedic Nursing Home provides traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments for patients suffering from paralysis, degenerative bone and joint conditions (causing back pain, neck pain, and knee pain), as well as for those affected by digestive disorders, migraine headaches, and allergic diseases — continuing its legacy of authentic Ayurvedic healing.
